The Shortstop is a mid-range weapon and Scout's mobility often allows him to choose the fights he wants, so there's little reason as to why he'd need to use it in close range especially with the slowish and awkward animation.

Its not that demo knights aren't easy to kill because they are, but they eat all my god damn rockets and then some fucker scout takes the kill so I have to reaload all of them.
I just wished that if you get an assist you'd get half of the normal health you'd get and ammo on a kill back. I personally don't like playing DM and hitting someone for a lot and a scout gets a 3 damage kill and I'm stick with 30 health and no ammo loaded. To get better at clicking on or around people and not worrying about how much damage or kills you have?
